Here's a look at some of the updates that have been done around Grandy Cabin over the years.
LIVING ROOM EXTENSION
A lovely but not very practical dining set and china hutch were replaced in early 2024 to create an extension of the somewhat limited living room space. We would have loved to have taken down the wall between these two rooms, but this wall was once an exterior wall and the dining room was added on. Fully removing such a load-bearing wall was not an option, so we made do by adding a comfy sofa & chairs that easily convert to another sleep area. This room can still be utilized for games & puzzles - the coffee table top extends up for puzzles, eating, playing games, etc!
COFFEE BAR
From a dusty curio cabinet to a functioning coffee bar, this space has become a more esthetic and practical extension of the kitchen.
EXTERIOR & PORCH
In 2018 (left) with siding and deck improvements underway. The cabin originally had a bi-level deck with a carport under the highest portion on the right. This portion was lowered to create a single level extended porch and wire mesh was added to help contain little dogs & little people. The cabin was also painted once siding improvements were complete.
